I make pictures on pseudo religious themes heavily influenced by the 15th Century Netherlandish Realism school of painting.

In my cramped workshop I assemble my paintings out of piles of discarded toys, plastic animals and old and broken religious figures that I paint, glue or in some other way tamper with.

Next I place these things into a painted two dimensional landscape. Then I swap and reposition and rearrange and fiddle and wait until I stumble upon a composition that pleases me – exactly why a particular composition pleases me is ineffable and beyond analysis.
Then I embed the whole thing in resin.

When I finish a painting and hang it, fisherman like, on the wall I am almost happy to die.

As someone else has probably already said: art is too important to be taken seriously.
