Recent sculptures have been used in a series referred to as ‘Cloud Drops’. The sculptures reference a cloud form developed from a children’s game.
The resulting works have been used in a series of recorded events where the sculpture has been dropped into a river. This resulted in a material reversal where the immaterial takes on a material form. The momentary disruption in the landscape acts as a tangible physical representation of a metaphor.
The sculpture exhibited here is yet to be used in an event and as such carry a latent expectation.
The sculptures work formally as they have mass and weight and explore the language of representation and can be understood as a simulation.
