Carol Tarn is a portrait and figurative artist who works in oils. She paints and teaches from her studio in Wood Green. Her subjects range from the unknown to the very well known, often choosing sitters who are individuals with fascinating lives. These have included theatrical personalities such as Celia Imrie and Lesley Joseph, as well as street artist Ben Wilson, also known as The Chewing Gum Artist.
Carol is also recognised for her ‘Flora and Fauna’ paintings, which focus on finely observed sections of plant life, using subjects sourced from both her garden and interior spaces. Her work has been shortlisted for The Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize and selected for exhibition by The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal West of England Academy, The Society of Women Artists, The ING Discerning Eye, The Society of Botanical Artists, Women In Art Fair, and the New Light Summer Exhibition.
