I work as a Printmaker and Mixed media artist and my work focuses the Wild in all its tangled and ungovernable state.
I hope to represent aspects of the archaic landscapes, sacred forests, woods, rare flowers, seeds or pods of a wild meadow or hoary hedgerows, the micro forces of mosses or lichens, and try to tap into nature’s guiding laws and principles.
As Robert Macfarlane, writer of the Athropocene says “a sense of wildness as process, something continually at work in the world, something tumultuous, green, joyous”
Being submerged in nature, I take from it some of the ancientness of the relationship between man and the land. I use eclectic forms of printing, drawing and mark making, and build conversations in layering image over image, drawing over drawing, lines over lines as in nature’s palimpsestic traces of previous usage and histories.
