I am a visual artist engaged mainly in portraiture through the media of oil and acrylic paint.
Gambian born and UK resident, artistry and creativity have been central to the absorption through my sensitivities from the richness of life that surrounded me from early years through to present day.
Moving to the UK at age 9, I was lucky to be joining parents that took me regularly to major London art galleries and museums, viewing works that enthralled me and helped to consolidate my sparks of artistic expression.
My art is a drive, a passion, a hunger and a need. History connects us and I am driven to explore and express historical relationships of homelands here and there from the perspective of an African-British/Western experience through the meanings behind portraiture and setting.
My aim is through spirituality to pursue a better understanding that engenders not tolerance, but respect through aestheticism and through thought.
