My practice is informed by my every day. With a focus on the familiar, my work draws upon suggested ideas and psychological motifs, without attaching to a particular narrative. I am currently interested in place & space and have been painting series of works based on views around my home and places on my routine journeys. I paint mostly in oils on a variety of surfaces and usually from my own photographs.
I trained in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (2016) and have been part of the Turps Banana Correspondence Course for the last 2 years as well as painting at the ESOP on the Painting Year with Dan Coombs since 2018. My work has been exhibited nationally and longlisted in the Jackson’s Painting Prize 2020, John Moore’s 2020 and the Mother Art Prize 2020 and was recently selected by Lido Stores, Margate and Irving Contemporary, Oxford to be part of their respective group shows.
