I work with the power of curves found naturally in trees and bark, attracted by the way they soothe the eye and mind. With simple hand tools, I collect, cleave, shave and create. From the fragile dried leaf and silver birch bark to the hollow cherry tree trunk and solid slice of oak, I play with texture, colour and curve, searching for essence of tree. Inside becomes outside in a studio resembling a Treehouse and gardens a natural gallery for worked branches and bark. Join Jane for cuppa and cake and help strip bark as the sap rises and weave bright new sculptures.
