I am primarily a painter, moving between figurative and abstraction depending on my frame of mind.
The act of making the work brings up emotions for me, and I use colour to express this. I like that people have been moved by what I make. I also enjoy that someone recently said I have an idiosyncratic and uncanny way of looking at things.
I’ve recently been away for the month of September on an artists residency in County Kerry, Ireland. An incredible experience, I found myself, not only scavenging visually for subjects, but researching the history of the island and its people and this fed into new work.
My paintings have been selected in 2023 & 2021 for the RA summer show, and recently for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition in The Mall Galleries in November.
