I am a painter working mostly in oils. The works are based mainly on figure, still life and landscapes which are inspired by the colour and forms of the countryside ,sea and river estuaries of Suffolk. I begin with sketches which are quite figurative but the finished result will be semi-abstract with colour playing an important part.
Recently I have been drawing musicians in rehearsals of chamber music which I translate into larger works on canvas using pastel and collage.
Having completed a degree in Fine Art at The University of Hertfordshire in 1997 I have exhibited widely in the UK and abroad. This year I’m exhibiting with Tripod Gallery at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea and Suffolk Open Studios.
