Elizabeth Brown

I am an artist primarily using photography and printmaking. I enjoy working collaboratively, collecting stories and images of objects to learn more about people. Observation is a key element of my work and a need to capture unique images presented to me by life and events.

Nature inspires a large part of my experimental analogue photography and printmaking. I often use my garden as a darkroom experimenting with alternative photographic processes such as Cyanotype, Lumen and Chlorophyll printing. I am fascinated by the random effects the weather, light and environment effects the images.

Back in the studio I have recently begun to use etching to explore the way images often photographic can be transformed using the etching process also I have experimented with objects such as leaves to create etching plates resulting in delicate silhouettes of the leaves or objects.
