I work mostly in gouache and acrylic on paper and board. My paintings seem to stem from a need to make sense of the world around me which seems wonderful and idiotic at the same time. Generally my paintings appear colourful and bright but often harbour dark sentiments and a sort of despair at the stupidity of many of our actions. For me they are depictions of the human condition which is both complex and simple. Also I want to challenge the need for “serious” art and am often surprised by the things that appear on the page in front of me.
