I was born in London and attended Chelsea Art School receiving a BA in Illustration in 1987 and an MA from the Royal College in 1989. My work is representational and I primarily concern myself with nature and landscape, where I try to bring the outside in. I have also had a long-term obsession with the humble potato and paint their portraits on a regular basis. I endeavour to look past the obvious, and the close inspection and engagement of the subject becomes my process. I find the challenge with all themes is to capture something unique and discover hidden beauty in unusual places. I work in oils on gesso panel.
