Martin Davidson

I have worked as a professional painter and printmaker in the UK and USA.
My printmaking practice is mostly with large woodcuts and linocuts trying to capture the movement and structure of water, cliffs and trees.

My current paintings focus on still life in oils from observation, focussing on colour, shape and light. The painting technique is layering individual brushstrokes to gradually and accurately depict the form of the objects.

I have exhibited widely in this country and abroad, including the Stedlijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy in London. I have work in many private and public collections around the world including the Victoria and Albert museum.
