My approach to painting is very straightforward. The painting is an accumulation of individual brushstrokes of the right hue, tone and intensity to create a convincing pictorial space. All the mixing is done on the palette so that the brushstroke retains it’s integrity and separateness. The process is then one of change and revision. The excitement lies in getting each patch of colour to work with the others to create a vivid and fresh image which will always show the process of it’s making. My subjects are mainly Still Life and Landscape.
