Moving through a world in continual flux, in particular the varied landscapes of the North Kent Coast, provides me with the crucial sensory experiences underpinning my work. I implement a non-observational approach, instead working obliquely and abstractly, discovering alternative resonances through explorations of materials, surfaces, and colour. Recently I have been stitching together disparate sections of painted material mapping and navigating a path through a patchwork of codes, clouds and signs. I gained an MFA in Studio Art at NYU and have exhibited widely, including Philadelphia, New York, London, Kent, and Melbourne. Curation includes: ‘24 Hours of Cable’, NY, and ’24 Hours of Everything’, Kent (both with Paula Stuttman); ‘Things That are There’, ‘By the Way’, ‘Incubator of Ideas’ and ‘Ground Work’ all for Ground Collective that I founded 2014. Residencies include Florence Trust and I was shortlisted for Chiara Williams SOLO Award (2018).
