Working primarily in ceramics and print, Nicky uses materials as expressive tools to communicate ideas – whether it be printing on tiles or preserving plant forms in clay.
Her conceptual output asks the viewer to look up close and appreciate detail when addressing issues concerned with our environment, both urban and natural. The importance of plants and the phenomena of Plant Blindness continue as a central theme linked to the sense of loss we can feel collectively and personally. For the November show Nicky is presenting an example of her screen printed work which examines scale.
Nicky is continuing her experimentation in ceramic and print, developing new collaborations as a member of a new studio space.
