Rosamund Coady

I love the colour and texture of terracotta clay – the warmth of the red is such an ancient earth colour. My new work is both horizontal and vertical – following a theme of growth above and below ground. Bulbs and roots, stems and shoots all feature in a dizzying spurt of verdant growth. I will be showing tall tree-like sculptures as well as open forms and plates. By using only two glazes (white and honey) I will enjoy the natural limitations imposed by a spare choice of these earthenware glazes on red clay.
