Encounters and emotional connections are core preoccupations in my work. Drawing, in whatever medium, is the discipline that underpins it. I have a special love of charcoal and its hugely expressive qualities, and I revel in the physicality of drawing at large scale. Recent works have included musings on identity, resilience, innocence and experience. My practice is sustained by close observation, eavesdropping, and playing with serious intent.
